Digital radiography requires substantially less radiation (90% less) than film. Digital X-rays requires only about a quarter as much exposure time as D-speed film, and a little more than half the time as the newest F-speed films.
One of the biggest benefits of digital X-rays is the ability to enhance the images on the computer, making them clearer, larger and with more contrast. This can aid in formulating a more accurate diagnosis as well as providing larger and sharper images for patient education.
